Ramos Jatuhkan Trofi Copa Del Rey

Kejadian nahas menimpa Sergio Ramos saat tengah merayakan keberhasilan Real Madrid menjuarai Copa Del Rey. Bek andalan El Real dikabarkan menjatuhkan trofi yang telah 17 tahun tidak didapat El Real.
Setelah sukses menjuarai Copa Del Rey dengan mengalahkan rival abadi Barcelona 1-0 di Mestalla, Rabu (20/4/2011) waktu setempat, para pemain Madrid langsung kembali ke Madrid dan melanjutkan pesta perayaan di pusat kota atau tepatnya di Plaza Cibeles. Dengan menggunakan bus tingkat, para punggawa Los Blancos memamerkan trofi juara ke hadapan sekira 150 ribu lebih Madridista yang memadati jalan-jalan ibukota.
Namun, kejadian miris menimpa Ramos di tengah parade. Saat mencoba menurunkan trofi yang sebelumnya ditaruh di atas kepalanya, Ramos tidak sengaja menjatuhkan trofi tersebut, karena tanganya tersenggol Marcelo yang juga tengah larut dalam euforia. Singkat kata, trofi tersebut pun sempat jatuh ke jalan.
Terlepas dari insiden jatuhnya trofi, pesta Madrid di Cibeles berlangsung meriah. Beragam kembang api yang mengiringi gelak tawa dan nyanyian fans serta pemain, mewarnai larut malam di ibukota Spanyol.

There’s more straws to clutch at as the Ukrainians have won nine of their last 10 Champions league matches and scored 26 goals along the way and Shakhtar have scored the most goals from outside the box in this season's Champions League. The record books paint an interesting picture as Shakhtar have won two and lost three of their six European meetings against Barcelona, but most recently they won 3-2 on their last trip to the Nou Camp. Try as I might I can’t find enough evidence to back the underdogs on this one, it’s going to be Barcelona’s night.

MANCHESTER UNITED vs CHELSEA

Possibly the biggest match of United's season and their toughest test to date. After the cancellation of their previous premier league fixture due to bad weather, we were finally able to see last season's League Champions in action against the dethroned Champions.
Going into this game United hadn't won at Stamford Bridge for nine years, and with United having played two games in the last seven days compared to Chelsea's one, the odds were seemingly against the away side. With furore surrounding both Rooney's escaping punishment for his elbow, and Cole's accidental shooting, it would be interesting to see how each player performed.
For the starting lineups Ferguson opted for the slightly in-form Chicharito and the recovering Rooney over this season's top scorer, Berbatov. Another sign that he places little-to-no faith in the Bulgarian, much to this author's chagrin. Ancelotti oddly decided to pair the massively out-of-form Torres with Anelka, who has scored 16 total. Not surprisingly he also kept Cole in the starting lineup. I'm personally not a fan of Chelsea, but I do believe Cole to be one of the best left backs in the world.
Chelsea started off well and even managed to put the ball in the back of the net within a minute. Unfortunately for them a foul was given on Vidic. For the next 25 minutes the game was pretty even, with both sides having their share of attacks and forcing a few saves from Van Der Sar and Cech.
However, United had been rather careless in possession and didn't quite have their game faces on. In the 29th minute it would go United's way. Rooney collected a pass from Nani and drilled it in to the bottom corner from 25 yards out.
1-0.
It looked like Fergie's gamble would pay off after all. With only one more chance from Chelsea before halftime we went into the break, advantage: United.
With no changes at halftime, it was up to the words of either manager to spur their team to victory. With only one chance coming the second half began was a rather lacklustre affair.
This was all about to change in the 53rd minute when United failed to clear a loose ball on the edge of the box. David Luiz, a defender with only five goals to his name in his career so far, rifled in a volley from the edge of the box that VDS was helpless to save. A stunning volley, and from a defender of all people.
1-1.
This goal appeared enough to spur on the Stamford Bridge faithful and players alike. In the 60th minute Drogba replaced Anelka, and in the 70th Berbatov replaced Chicharito. Since the goal, Chelsea were rejuvenated and continued the hunt for a second.

With less than 15 minutes to go, United needed to pull something special out of the bag. With their poor form away, in the last 15 minutes in particular, and a Chelsea side looking ever closer to scoring, this was looking increasingly unlikely. The momentum, luckily, shifted United's way for a few moments with Giggs and Rooney pulling saves out of Cech.
With 11 minutes left to go, Zhirkov raced into the box and went down over Smallings outstretched leg. Although replays showed otherwise, a penalty was given. With United increasingly being said to have the favour of referees, it looked like the ball was on the other foot. Lampard confidently drilled the ball into the United goal.
2-1.
The only further thing of note to happen in the game was Vidic being sent off for a second yellow card, meaning he will miss the must-win game at Liverpool on Sunday, a dreaded away game as well.
Unfortunately for us United fans, defeat means spurning a chance to gain a larger advantage over Arsenal, now having played one more game. With Arsenal having the chance to come to within a point of the league leaders, the game at Anfield is a definite must-win if they are to regain the title. Luckily, Chelsea are too far behind in points for the victory to bring them too much closer. With the return game being played at Old Trafford in May, there may be a chance for revenge.
Quite simply, Chelsea were the better side and deserved their victory.

Ivankovic not underestimating Arema

Malang: Shandong Luneng boss Branko Ivankovic has warned his side that Arema Indonesia's poor start to the 2011 AFC Champions League is not a true reflection of their ability as the two sides prepare to go head to head in a Group G clash at Kanjuruhan Stadium.
Cui Peng and Wang Yongpo are suspended for the visitors, who have begun their continental campaign with a win and a defeat.
Arema, on the other hand, narrowly lost to Cerezo Osaka in Japan but were then outclassed at home by Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
Shandong lost to Sriwijaya in Palembang in 2009 and Ivankovic is keen to avoid more Indonesian woe.
"I think Arema are one of the best Indonesian team I've seen,” he said.
“They play modern football and they're now well-known in Asia. They're going to give us a tough test.

"I've heard of the famous 'Aremania' and how tremendous their support is. It's going to be a factor but I don't think we will be intimidated. We're ready for it.
"Some of our players couldn't make it to Malang but our backup players are capable to step up and fill their boots, so I think we're going to be just fine.

"We don't have issue with the weather here. The humidity level is quite high but it's not a problem for us. We lost in Indonesia a couple of years ago but we're a better team this time."

Arema Indonesia coach Miroslav Janu, meanwhile, would be happy with a point against the Chinese side.

"We're by far the weakest team in this group. Other teams are stronger and we're expected to be pushovers,” he said.
“Despite losing, we could have actually managed to do something from the first two matches. This match is going to be no different. Shandong is expected to win here but it's not going to be easy.

"We have to win this game to keep our chance of going through the group stage alive. We desperately need a point."

The Crazy Lions will face Persija Jakarta in the Indonesian Super League's highest-profile match this weekend and Janu admitted he has one eye on that clash.

"It's been a privilege for us playing in this tournament but for now I prefer to concentrate on the domestic league,” he added.
“We have a big game coming up against Persija this weekend and I can say that Indonesian Super League is on top of our priorities.

"We're going to try our best but we will not be too disappointed if we don't come up with a result because we have other things in mind."

Janu hopes that Arema supporters, affectionately called 'Aremania', will back his team with their famous support.

"We need Aremania's voice to back our performance. Their support is second to none in this country and I hope they can put intimidating pressure on our opponents," he said.

Striker Ahmad Amiruddin echoed his coach and stated that his team-mates are ready to take Shandong.

"The boys are all in good shape. No matter who is going to play, we're ready to give one hundred percent," he said.

Normalisation Committee in Indonesia

Following the latest events linked to the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), the FIFA Emergency Committee decided on 1 April 2011 that, in accordance with article 7 paragraph 2 of the FIFA Statutes, a Normalisation Committee will take over from the current PSSI executive committee.

The FIFA Emergency Committee estimated that the current PSSI leadership was not in control of football in Indonesia as proven by the failure to gain control of the run-away league (Liga Premiere, LPI) set up without the involvement of PSSI or by the fact it could not organise a congress whose sole goals were to adopt an electoral code and elect an electoral commission. The FIFA Emergency Committee came thus to the conclusion that the PSSI leadership had lost all credibility within Indonesia and was not in a position anymore to lead the process to solve the current crisis.

The mission of the Normalisation Committee is: to organise elections based on the FIFA electoral code and PSSI statutes before 21 May 2011; to bring the run-away league under PSSI control or have it stopped as soon as possible; to run the day-to-day activities of PSSI in a spirit of reconciliation for the good of the Indonesian football

The Normalisation Committee is composed by personalities of the Indonesian football who will not be able to run for any of the PSSI positions and would act as an electoral commission. It confirmed as well the non-eligibility to the Presidency of PSSI of the four candidates who were rejected by the PSSI appeal committee on 28 February 2011

Tottenham mauled at the Bernabeu

Real Madrid put a giant foot in the last four of the UEFA Champions League with a thumping 4-0 home win over 10-man Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-final first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu today.
A headed brace from Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor and late goals from Angel di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo put Tottenham to the sword in Madrid's fifth straight home win in Europe. The four-goal lead gives Tottenham a mountain to climb in the second leg at White Hart Lane on 13 April.
Tottenham, who last reached a European Cup semi-final back in 1962, were left to rue the early sending off of striker Peter Crouch on 15 minutes for a late lunge as the home side made the ten men pay. "I haven't seen a replay of the tackle," said Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp. "He already has a yellow card and he shouldn't take the chance of getting a red card. I am disappointed. It is going to be difficult to turn around. Trailing 4-0 to Real Madrid is very difficult and we have a mountain to climb no doubt about that, but we will give our all at White Hart Lane."

Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp welcomed Welsh winger Gareth Bale overcoming a niggling hamstring injury to start, while experienced French centre-back Willam Gallas was passed fit. Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart started against his old club, but Redknapp had to draft in Jermaine Jenas for Aaron Lennon at the last minute.
The Bernabeu home crowd were nervous after the shock loss to Gijon, but the hosts got off to the perfect start scoring after just four minutes. A corner from the right found Adebayor in the penalty area and the striker planted a header toward goal and the unfortunate Luka Modric could not keep the effort out as it went between his legs. It was a setback for the visitors, who were then reduced to ten men on 15 minutes with Crouch's rash lunge on Marcelo earning him a second caution.
Real dominated possession but a half chance from Ronaldo was all they had to show for their extra man. Bale had been quiet but sparked into life in the 28th minute with his gigantic throw catching Real off guard. Van der Vaart, however, could not get a shot off. Bale then powered down the left and raced in on goal only for his shot to hit the side netting.
Adebayor, well known to the Spurs fans from his Arsenal days, was inches away from heading in his second goal on 32 minutes, but was centimetres away from converting Sergio Ramos' unorthodox headed cross. Portuguese centre-back Pepe was then booked for hacking down Bale close to half-time and will now the miss return leg.
Van der Vaart made way for striker Jermain Defoe in the second half in a brave move from Redknapp. Unfortunately for the boss, it didn't pay off as Ronaldo - shooting from everywhere - drilled a left-footed shot wide of the post early in the second half to sound out a warning.
On 57 minutes Real got the second goal they craved with a corner finding Marcelo. Adebayor was again unmarked and directed a header into the corner. He almost got a hat-trick with another header before Argentine di Maria netted on 72 minutes cutting inside before bending a terrific shot into the corner with his left foot. Ronaldo made it four in the closing minutes with a volley although goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes should have done better.
